Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to my blog!

My name is Emily DeMarea and I am a traveling saleswoman.  I work for an auto marketing group based out of Orlando, Fl.  In April 2012, I finished my schooling with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Political Science.  Needless to say, I am not doing exactly what I planned on, but it gets me out of the bar and into my big girl work clothes!
Speaking of the bar, I got this job while working at a sports bar in the Kansas City Power and Light District.  A group of businessmen came in and sat in my section.  Originally, they had planned on only spending an hour or two at the bar.  Six hours later, they came to the conclusion that working in a sports bar in Kansas City, Mo. was not what I should have been doing at the time.  They convinced me to try out something new and within hours, I was on a plane to Orlando, Fl. (all expenses paid) to give it a shot.
At first I was very skeptical of trying the job.  I told everybody about it BUT my parents.  I still wasn't sure it was the right occupation for me at the time, so I didn't see the need to worry my parents if I wouldn't be sticking with it a year or two down the road.  Fortunately, I happened to enjoy the job very much and I had a natural niche for it.  I sold two cars in six days and my new boss was very impressed by me since it was my first time selling in the automobile industry.
Like I mentioned earlier, I had never planned on spending my post-college career traveling the nation selling cars.  I want to be a television news reporter someday, and hopefully work my way up to a local news anchor.  I plan on utilizing this blog as a gateway for the two jobs so when I apply at a local news station and they ask what I have been doing since I received my Bachelor's, I won't just respond, "Traveling across the United States selling cars."
This is the first of many blogs to come, in which I intend to describe the greatest and some of the worst times one can have as a female traveling car salesperson.  Thank you for taking the time to read this blog and I hope you continue to read those to come in the near future.
Sincerely,
Emily A. DeMarea

You can turn or spin anything(as you will in the news business) with substantiating legal/researched facts...the blog is a good starting point as your journal and social media constant communicator. Stay safe, always keep your "ears up," and utilize ALL your experiences to learn and keep pointed in a steady progression toward your dream. I'm JUST SAYIN, LOL ;) RBSR - BCP,inc.
